Capitulo 3, Semana 28

Hey Fam!

What a week! I don't even know where to start. We have been so busy (and so tired haha) but that's the way I like it. We can sleep when we're dead, right?:)

We had some fun experiences this week. One included killing my first chicken, rooster actually, with my bare hands. On Tuesday we went to the Quintana's ranch because we asked if there was anything we could do to serve them. "Well, I have some roosters we need to kill for some enchiladas..." Not a normal service project, but I wasn't about to turn down the opportunity to serve. Sister Dana and I were talking about it on the ride up and almost threw up before we even got there! haha Great start:) Hermana Quintana gave us a demonstration - swinging the chicken until it's head popped off and then skinning and gutting it. Then Elder Peterson caught a rooster, brought it to me and said, "Alright Sister Stewart, this guys yours!" and handed me the rooster. I said sorry to God and the rooster and then spun it until its head popped off. Then yesterday we ate enchiladas at the Quintanas...:)

I don't know if you know, but I LOVE missionary work and being a missionary! We are seeing a ton of progress and it's SO fun, and crazy, to be a part of it!
-Jose Renteria got the Priesthood yesterday so he can baptize his daughter Claritza this Friday. At first he was super hesitant and said he didn't want to. I wasn't about to have that and after some discussing and soothing, he agreed:) We're so excited! The son, Lupito bore his testimony for the first time yesterday! He went us with his cousin and was so nervous. He stood up, looked at everybody, then sat back down. His cousin stood and bore his testimony then nudged Lupito to go back up. He stood and while looking to the side at the wall, bore his simple, yet strong, testimony. I love that little boy with my whole heart and know he's going to make an AMAZING missionary one day!
-We've started meeting with just Hermana Barajas so we can focus more on her needs and doubts and it has been really good! Literally her only doubt is the Book of Mormon. So we're reading with her, committing her to read and pray on her own, and I know she's going to get her answer soon.
-Samantha and Daisy are getting baptized on Saturday and are SO excited! Samantha has already asked about how she needs to start preparing to go on a mission and has already come out with us on exchanges. She's awesome!
-We visited the Sandovals last night and they asked what the questions were going to be for their baptismal interveiw. We reviewed them all and each family member took their turn answering. Question 4 has a part asking if you have ever participated in an abortion - everyone shook their head. The next part of the question is if they have ever participated in a homosexual relationship. Brianna (9-year-old) quickly starts shaking her head back quickly and forth saying, "Yo no, yo no. Nunca." haha We all cracked up.

I am learning a lot about diligence, patience, and the importance of relying on the Lord. I think we learn most when we fail and that 's probably the case here with me...:) Alma 26:27 I have learned being on a mission is kind of like being handcuffed to a treadmill - you get in really good shape and sometimes you just want to take a breather but you can't stop running. Three baptisms this week - pray for us! I am SO happy to hear about Jo and her family! That is incredible. I know that she's is going to be and already is an amazing missionary. Missions are the greatest and bring so many unexpected blessings! I love you all so much and thank the Lord everynight for you guys!
